Croatian Residence Permit – stay more then ninety days
If you do decide you want to stay longer than ninety days in Croatia, you will need to apply for a temporary residency permit. You will need identity documentation and reason for wanting to live in Croatia.
You can obtain your Croatian residency first with the plan to obtain your Croatian citizenship at a later stage.
A temporary residence permit is valid for one year and can be easily renewed and extended at the local police station. You must start the renewal process at least ninety days before your permit expires.
You will not be able to get permanent residency in Croatia until you have held a temporary residence permit for five years.
You can apply for permanent residence after five years. You must reside in Croatia for five continuously years and are not absent from Croatia for more than ten months in total or once for more than six months.
